At Action Sustainability, we are global leaders in delivering sustainability education for the built environment and supply chain management. We are proud to now deliver the Supply Chain Sustainability School in Australia, bringing with us international expertise, proven tools, and a track record of transforming how people within the built environment learn and act on sustainability.
The Supply Chain Sustainability School began in the UK in 2012, where it quickly became an award-winning initiative. Following its success, the school expanded to Ireland, launched in the United States in 2025, and is now managed directly by Action Sustainability in Australia. To deepen our impact, we are building a stronger presence in Australia, working alongside local partner organisations to grow capability and drive sustainability in the Australian built environment sector.

Our story
2006-2011
Founded in 2006, we worked with DEFRA to advance the UK Government’s sustainable procurement agenda. We helped develop BS 8903, the world’s first standard for sustainable procurement.
2012-2015
We launched the Supply Chain Sustainability School, which won the CIPS Supply Management Award.
2016-2019
We expanded the School’s reach across the UK and into Australia through a licensing model. During this time, we also contributed to the development of ISO 20400 and the Sustainability Tool.
2020-2022
We adapted to virtual delivery, expanding demand for our consultancy services. Our Sustainability Tool was enhanced to support broader business needs and sustainability goals.
2022-2024
In 2022, we received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development. By 2024, the UK School had 40,000 members, and we expanded into Ireland.
2025
We took back the reins of the Australian Supply Chain Sustainability School, bringing it under our direct management to strengthen our support for Australian organisations with global best practice and locally relevant expertise. We also launched the School in the United States, extending our global impact and supporting organisations with regionally relevant sustainability solutions.

Our team combines deep expertise in sustainability topics such as procurement, carbon & climate change, modern slavery, and social value. We support organisations with training, e-modules, and measurement tools to improve sustainability performance.
